Maricopa County Supervisor Don Stapley was arrested for his involvement with tax return fraud, campaign fraud and illegal activities in his mortgage and loan business.

According to the Huffington Post, Stapley allegedly used campaign funds to pay personal expenses and use leftover funds to stuff his pockets.

After facing indictment late last year for misstating finances to the public, Stapley was arrested again, this time facing 93 felony counts and seven misdemeanors.

“Our investigation began in January of this year and concluded just days ago,” says Sheriff Joe Arpaio.

Stapley was arrested on probable cause and has not been charged by a Grand Jury.

According to an unnamed source from ABC, Stapley’s arrest stems “from monies that were allegedly transferred back and forth between several campaign accounts and personal accounts.”
