A man was arrested after allegedly leaving a voicemail threatening Boulder City Manager Vicki Mayes. The voicemail was graphic, leaving threats that included murdering the city manager. Mayes first heard the voicemail on the evening of Nov. 7.

The man who left the voicemail identified himself as Gregory Eugene Thomas and threatened to come to the Nov. 10 City Council meeting to follow through on his threats and kill her husband, according to the Las Vegas Sun. He was arrested a day prior to the meeting.

According to the newspaper report, police said that Thomas told them his threat was based off frustration because he couldn’t find an affordable place to live in Boulder City.
