The City of Redding and the Redding Fire Department are honored to welcome the new Fire Chief, Jerrod Vanlandingham!
Redding City Manager Barry Tippin announced the appointment of Jerrod Vanlandingham to be Fire Chief for The City of Redding, and, at the City Council meeting last night, his appointment was approved.
Vandlandingham holds a Master’s Degree in Business Administration and has attended both Shasta and Butte Community Colleges. For 25 years, he has worked for the City of Longmont, Colorado, where he spent the last eight years as the Chief of the Fire Services Division.
In addition to his professional accomplishments, Vanlandingham is an author who has been published in several professional journals. He looks forward to returning to the North State and will begin his position in October.
Vandlandingham was chosen following a national search that attracted several highly qualified
candidates. Six were formally interviewed by both the community and traditional Oral Board Panels. The City of Redding is confident that Chief Vanlandingham will bring excellence, professionalism and experience to his new position.
“Chief Vanlandingham’s professional record and local roots stood out and we are excited to see what he brings to the department, says Barry Tippin. “I am happy to officially call him a member of our leadership team.”
