Colusa County logoThe Colusa County Board of Supervisors were informed that Elizabeth Kelly, Colusa County Health & Human Services Director, received the prestigious 2023 County Welfare Directors Association (CWDA) Executive Leadership Award. The CWDA Executive Leadership Award is presented annually to a county director or staff for their leadership in the advancement of county, regional, or statewide Social Services programs.

“Elizabeth embodies the values and philosophy of CWDA as well as the mission and vision of being an Agency Director in a rural, small county,” said Jennifer Vasquez, CWDA President. “Elizabeth is resourceful and collaborative in nature, and is committed to ensuring that the voice of small counties is not forgotten.”

CWDA is a nonprofit association representing the human service directors from each of California’s 58 counties. The Association’s mission is to promote a human services system that encourages self-sufficiency of families and communities, and protects vulnerable children and adults from abuse and neglect.

“We are so excited to see Director Kelly be recognized by her peers and her professional association for her incredible work on behalf of Colusa County residents,” said Supervisor Kent Boes, Chair of the Colusa County Board of Supervisors. “Director Kelly is a strong advocate for Colusa County, and we are grateful for her dedication and commitment to local Social Services.”

Director Kelly began her career with Colusa County in 2010, and joined the CWDA Board of Directors the same year. She served as CWDA President during the COVID-19 (Coronavirus) pandemic.
