The City of Hawthorne is delighted to announce a series of exciting events aimed at bolstering joy and community spirit this December. “These festive gatherings symbolize the unity and community spirit that define our City of Good Neighbors,” said City Manager Vontray Norris. “I’m looking forward to celebrating the spirit of the season together.'”
Holiday Home Decorating Contest (Tuesday, December 12):
Hawthorne community members are invited to showcase their festive spirit in our 2023 Holiday Home Decorating Contest! To enter, submit your name, address, phone number, and a brief decoration description to 3901 W. El Segundo Blvd, Hawthorne, CA 90250, or email it to parksrec@cityofhawthorne.org by 5 p.m. on December 11, 2023. To enter the contest participants must be Hawthorne residents and must have their lights on by 6 p.m. on December 12, 2023. Winners will be announced on December 15, with awards for first, second, and third-place winners.
Let it Snow: 6th Annual Winter Wonderland Spectacular (Saturday, December 16):
The Memorial Park Community Center will transform into a Winter Wonderland on December 16th from 4 to 9 p.m., hosting the City’s 6th Annual Winter Wonderland. Sponsored by the Hawthorne Parks and Recreation Foundation, Hawthorne Historical Society, Hawthorne Municipal Employee Association, Hawthorne Police Officers Association, and Kiwanis International, this event is free to attend. City of Hawthorne Toy Giveaway (Friday, December 22):
Spread the holiday cheer at the City of Hawthorne Toy Giveaway. The event will take place on December 22 from 12 to 2 p.m. at City Hall, and is exclusively for Hawthorne residents with children aged 0 to 15. Hawthorne’s Day at the Park Holiday Giveback Event (Saturday, December 23):
In addition to the festive lineup of December events, the City of Hawthorne is thrilled to announce Hawthorne’s Day at the Park Holiday Giveback event on Saturday, December 23. Taking place from 12 to 4 p.m. at Eucalyptus Skatepark (12100 S Inglewood Ave, Hawthorne, CA 90250), this event promises a day of joy, community spirit, and exhilarating activities for residents of all ages. The event will feature a variety of exciting attractions, including giveaways, cash for tricks, and live music by Blondie Beach.
