The City of Blythe is excited to announce the completion of its latest public art installation. The new mural, located at 212 N. Main Street, nestled between Barnard St. and Murphy St., is a vibrant addition to the community.
The mural was brought to life by Artist Alex Pesante, and commissioned by Pete Salcido, owner of Flat Black Art Supply, Inc. in Palm Desert. Blythe funded the project through its Arts in Public Places fund, showcasing the City’s commitment to supporting and enhancing its cultural landscape.
The art project launched in March and involved collaboration between City officials, the artist and community stakeholders to ensure the mural captured the spirit of Blythe.
Blythe Interim City Manager Mallory Crecelius expressed appreciation for the project, stating, “This beautiful mural honors the City’s rich history and deep-rooted values. It highlights Blythe’s agricultural heritage, emphasizes community pillars such as patriotism and pays special tribute to those who have proudly served in the armed forces.”
Now open to the public, residents and visitors are encouraged to experience this meaningful reflection of the Blythe community.
