The City of Commerce is excited to announce the commencement of the long-anticipated Veterans Park Remediation Project, made possible through the Department of Toxic Substances Control (DTSC) Environmental Cleanup and Revitalization Grant (ECRG). This project will focus on remediating the park’s baseball fields, ensuring a safe and clean environment for all residents and park visitors.
The project is set to begin October 1 and will last for approximately four months. During this time the baseball field will be closed to the public. The playgrounds, picnic areas and spray pool will be closed. However, the High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) Center, gymnasium and outside basketball courts, will remain open and fully operational.
“This project has been years in the making, and we are thrilled to be able to take this important step forward in improving Veterans Park for our community,” said Mayor Hugo Argumedo. “We are committed to ensuring that this space remains a vital and safe part of Commerce for generations to come.”
Updates will be provided to the public as the project progresses, and residents are encouraged to check the City’s website and social media for the latest information.
