The City of Hawthorne partnered with Tripepi Smith for a rebrand, unveiling a new City logo and delivering a suite of fresh brand assets to create a cohesive and modern reflection of the City.
“Our City needed a fresh, modern brand identity that reflects our commitment to innovation and excellence,” said Hawthorne City Manager Vontray Norris. “The collaboration between the City and Tripepi Smith was instrumental in this effort, and the team exceeded our expectations. Their creativity and strategic approach helped us capture the spirit of Hawthorne in our new branding.”
The new City logo is not just a symbol; it represents Hawthorne’s ongoing journey, celebrating its heritage, embracing the opportunities of tomorrow, and reaffirming the welcoming atmosphere of the City of Good Neighbors.
Creative Director Kevin Bostwick led the design efforts with support from Senior Graphic Designer Sean Talbot and Graphic Designer Jenni Wechsler. The team designed a new logo, economic development sub-brand, flyer templates and a style guide for the City to follow for future branding and marketing materials. Principal Jennifer Vaughn and Business Analyst Kendall Lowery handled all project management and cross-team communications.
“Collaborating with the City on this project was both inspiring and rewarding,” said Kevin. “A city’s logo and branding create its first impression, making it essential that they authentically reflect the community. In addition to public input, I was particularly impressed that Hawthorne used their staff retreat to get comprehensive feedback. As cities evolve, their identity should evolve with them, and a thoughtful refresh ensures that everyone feels represented.”
