La Palma City Council has agendized the selection of Mike Egan as their interim city manager following closed-session interviews. Egan has over 30 years of local government experience, including former positions as Bellflower and Norwalk city manager and interim city manager for the City of Artesia.
More recently, Egan is a director at Tripepi Smith. He led engagements for the City of Paramount to find a new city attorney and the City of Cerritos for the creation of a strategic plan. Mike additionally provided his experience and insights to various Tripepi Smith clients and team members. He will conclude his role at Tripepi Smith to take on the position in La Palma.
“Tripepi Smith has a strong history of engagement with the city manager community, and Mike has been a great asset to our team with his insights and industry wisdom. La Palma will benefit from his talent, and I am happy for Mike and the La Palma team,” said Tripepi Smith President Ryder Todd Smith.
Egan will begin his new role on April 28, pending Council action, allowing him to temporarily work with former City Manager Conal McNamara before McNamara leaves to Whittier to become its new city manager. Egan’s agreement runs until December 31, 2025.
