Facility feasibility studies help agencies determine whether a proposed project is practical and financially sustainable, taking into account community needs, site conditions and return on investment.
In alignment with the City of Corona’s Strategic Plan, the City Council launched a Performing Arts Center Feasibility Study in April 2023 to explore the potential development of a new performing arts venue and/or the renovation of the City’s Historic Civic Center (HCC) Theatre. The study evaluated community interest, construction and operating costs and potential locations.
In June 2024, the City Council reviewed the findings of the study. Based on the cost analysis, The City Council decided to move forward with the renovation of the HCC Theatre, opting not to pursue construction of a new performing arts center.
Director of Community Services Donna Finch authored the June 2024 staff report.
“The revitalization of the Historic Civic Center Theatre underscores the City of Corona’s dedication to increasing support for the local arts community,” said Director of Community Services Donna Finch. “The facility feasibility study provided a clear roadmap to bring this vision to life.”
