Renne Public Law Group (RPLG) Partner Rubin E. Cruse Jr., Of Counsel Ann Danforth and Associate Mauricio Grande lead an advanced session on the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) at the California Special Districts Association (CSDA) Annual Conference on August 27.
The session, titled, “CEQA for the Brave: Advanced CEQA topics,” was designed for experienced local government professionals navigating the increasingly complex landscape of environmental compliance in California.
As state regulations continue to evolve, special districts face heightened challenges in securing project approval and conducting environmental review processes. The session explored recent case law, new legislation and emerging policy trends that are reshaping CEQA practice.
The RPLG team shared legal insights and practical strategies to help attendees streamline compliance processes, adapt to new regulatory requirements and effectively advance public projects while remaining in alignment with state environmental standards.
“CEQA remains one of the most challenging aspects of public project development in California,” said Founding Partner Jon Holtzman. “Our goal is to equip special district professionals with the tools they need to meet compliance obligations and move forward with critical infrastructure and service initiatives.”
RPLG brings experience in environmental law and CEQA compliance, having helped numerous public agencies through complex environmental review processes across the state. Most recently, the firm secured a California Supreme Court victory upholding the Moraga-Orinda Fire District’s Fuel Break Ordinance, reinforcing the importance of proactive wildfire risk mitigation.
RPLG practices throughout California, advising and advocating for public agencies, nonprofit entities, individuals and private entities in need of effective, responsive and creative legal solutions.
