Tripepi Smith partnered with the City of San Pablo’s Economic Development and Housing Division in 2026 to launch an economic corridor brand system designed as a tool for reinvestment, business attraction and placemaking. The system establishes a flexible economic development identity that can be applied across multiple corridors, enabling the City to distinguish areas, communicate local assets and support both business outreach and community-facing initiatives.
“Tripepi Smith collaborated closely with City staff and community stakeholders to understand San Pablo, where we are today and where we are trying to go. The result is a clear, functional brand system that supports one of the City Council’s priorities and implements a key action from our Economic Development Strategy,” said Kieron Slaughter, Economic Development and Housing Manager. “This gives us a stronger platform to attract investment, support local businesses and communicate our vision in a more coordinated way. We’re proud to use these tools to highlight the strengths of San Pablo as the city evolves.”
The discovery process incorporated input from City staff, community voices and the private sector to define messaging and develop a family of corridor-level sub-brands. This structure allows San Pablo to speak more precisely about different districts and opportunities while maintaining a consistent citywide economic development framework.
The Tripepi Smith team, led by Creative Director Kevin Bostwick, developed strategy, messaging and creative direction. “City brand identity is one of the most significant things we provide,” said Kevin. “Working with San Pablo was a great reminder that cities aren’t just one thing — and a chance to really explore how distinct neighborhoods each contribute to citywide cultural and economic well-being. The result is a brand strategy that reflects San Pablo’s ongoing positive development.”
