The City of Bellflower tapped Tripepi Smith to transform their triannual Parks and Recreation brochure into Bellflower City Life, a quarterly magazine designed to make it easier for residents and visitors to stay informed about city news, programs and services, Parks and Recreation classes and events and other community opportunities. This revamped brochure serves as a modern, comprehensive resource that strengthens the City’s connection with the community.
For over nine years, the City of Bellflower has worked with Tripepi Smith on photography and videography services, and in October 2024 expanded the partnership to include general communications support. Bellflower City Life was developed in response to feedback from a recent community survey, which confirmed that the Parks and Recreation brochure was a primary resource of information for many residents.
“This publication reflects how Bellflower continues to evolve,” said Bellflower City Manager Ryan Smoot. “We listened to community feedback and recognized an opportunity to build on a resource residents already valued. By bringing city news, programs and events into one clear, consistent publication, we’re improving how we communicate and making it simpler for the community to stay engaged.”
Senior Graphic Designer Kjerstin Wingert, Director Sara Madsen and Business Analyst Valerie Nevarez led the redesign effort. Junior Business Analysts Claire Blodget, Erin Pinkelman and Paris Davis assisted with content development.
“Working with the City of Bellflower is a collaborative and rewarding process,” said Kjerstin. “The City team is deeply committed to providing clear, accessible and engaging communications for its residents. They were extremely thoughtful about how Bellflower City Life could best reflect the needs and interests of the community, making it possible to reimagine the brochure as a comprehensive publication that truly serves its audience.”
