The City of Marina is pleased to announce the appointment of Elizabeth Crisante as the City’s new Recreation & Cultural Services Director. Crisante began her role in April and will oversee the City’s recreation programs, community special events, cultural initiatives, parks, youth, teen and senior services.
Crisante brings more than 30 years of recreation management experience working for several cities in addition to the Carmichael Recreation & Park District. Prior to joining the City of Marina, she served as Recreation Manager for the City of Vacaville. In her role, she assisted with the oversight of the department’s $11 million budget and operations of the City’s recreation facilities, including the aquatic center, community center, teen center and performing arts theatre. Thanks to her creation, Vaca-Con, the City of Vacaville received an Award of Excellence from California Parks and Recreation Society for the implementation of the citywide special event..

The Recreation & Cultural Services Department plays a vital role in enhancing quality of life in Marina through recreational opportunities, special events, cultural celebrations and programs that bring the community together.
“Elizabeth brings fresh ideas and a strong vision for expanding recreational and cultural opportunities throughout Marina,” added Long. “We are confident she will build strong partnerships and continue strengthening programs that serve residents of all ages.”
Crisante holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Oregon and a Master’s in Business Administration from DeVry University’s Keller Graduate School Program. In her new role, she will lead the construction and operations of the City’s new parks, including the all-inclusive park and the new recreation and aquatics center, which will begin construction soon.
