Throughout 2024, the City of Duarte teamed up with Tripepi Smith to create a series of event recap videos showcasing the City’s dynamic community gatherings. From cherished traditions to exciting new celebrations, these videos capture the spirit of Duarte and help extend the impact of each event beyond a single day.
“These videos allow us to capture and share the energy, excitement and spirit of our events with the entire community, whether they experienced them firsthand or are reliving the memories later,” said Cesar A. Garcia, Mayor of Duarte. “Partnering with Tripepi Smith in this initiative has given us the ability to showcase Duarte’s story in a vibrant, engaging and visually compelling way that resonates with our residents.”
Each video project was led by Senior Business Analyst Kylie Sun and Business Analyst Amy Gallagher, with videography by Videographers Nolan Voge and Josh Hernandez and Junior Videographers Christina Haverilla and Ethan de la Peña. The final videos documented key moments from Duarte’s Lunar New Year Celebration, Independence Day Celebration and Fireworks Show, 67th Anniversary City Picnic, Halloween Howl and Snow Nite, culminating in a final 2024 Event Recap video that showcases the year’s most memorable celebrations.
“Video storytelling is a powerful tool that allows cities to capture and preserve the moments, traditions and experiences that shape their communities,” said Kylie. “Collaborating with the Duarte team on this initiative led to dynamic content that deepens the connection between the City and its residents, fostering a stronger sense of pride and belonging.”As Duarte looks ahead to 2025, it remains committed to leveraging video content to share its story and celebrate its residents.
