The City of Arroyo Grande is pleased to announce the appointment of Megan Schotborgh as the City’s new Director of Administrative Services who will begin her new role on October 9, 2026.

Schotborgh has served as the City’s Interim Director of Administrative Services since July 17, 2026, and Finance Manager since February 2025. Before joining the City, Schotborgh held the positions of Accountant for the County of San Luis Obispo, and Accounting Manager for the City of Morro Bay. She brings more than twelve years of accounting and finance experience, including leading financial reporting, audit coordination, and financial operations and oversight.

As Director of Administrative Services, Schotborgh will oversee the City’s Finance and Information Technology functions while helping to guide the City through the upcoming Biennial Budget process and some of Arroyo Grande’s most important long-term initiatives. These initiatives include strengthening the City’s long-term financial planning, modernizing internal systems and technology, and aligning City resources with the community’s strategic priorities.

“Megan’s background, leadership experience, and commitment to public service make her the right person for this role within the organization,” said Arroyo Grande City Manager Matthew Downing. “With a strong understanding of our organization, Megan brings a thoughtful approach to problemsolving and a genuine commitment to helping the City succeed. With Megan, we get both continuity and a fresh perspective in the Administrative Services function, and she will play an important role in helping us continue to build an organization that is positioned to serve Arroyo Grande well for years to come.”

Schotborgh holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Biological Sciences from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo. She has earned recognition for her dedication to public service, financial management, operational efficiency, and organizational improvement.

“I am honored to be selected for this important role with the City of Arroyo Grande,” said Schotborgh. “I look forward to continuing to work alongside City staff, residents, businesses, and the community in this new role.”
