The City of El Monte is launching its 2026 Small Business Grant Program, offering grants of up to $10,000 to help eligible local businesses strengthen operations, invest in growth, and continue serving the community.
The program is designed to support El Monte’s small business sector, which city leaders say plays a critical role in the local economy by creating jobs, attracting investment, and providing essential goods and services to residents.
Eligible businesses must be located in El Monte, have been operating for at least six months, be in good standing with the City, and submit all required application documents. Funding will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis, and previous grant recipients are not eligible to apply again.
City officials say the initiative reflects El Monte’s continued efforts to support entrepreneurs and neighborhood businesses as they navigate rising costs and changing market conditions.
“Small businesses are the backbone of El Monte’s economy and the heart of our neighborhoods,” said City Manager Alma Martinez. “Through this grant program, the City is investing directly in our local entrepreneurs and providing resources that help them expand, hire, and continue contributing to the vitality of our community.”
Businesses interested in applying can download an application through the City’s Business Resource Center website or obtain one in person at City Hall West, where completed applications must also be submitted during regular business hours.
City officials emphasized that submitting an application does not guarantee funding, and the program may be modified or closed depending on available resources.
Applications and program information are available through the City of El Monte’s Business Resource Center or at the Housing Counter located at 11333 Valley Boulevard, El Monte.
