The League of California Cities today congratulated Xavier Becerra on being elected California’s next governor. Cal Cities Executive Director and CEO Carolyn Coleman and Cal Cities President Teresa Acosta issued the following statements:
“Congratulations to Governor-elect Xavier Becerra on his victory,” said Cal Cities President and Carlsbad Council Member Teresa Acosta. “City leaders throughout the state and I are committed to working with the new administration on building an even more resilient California. We are ready to collaborate and deliver, with compassion, results that improve the lives of all Californians.”
“On behalf of California’s 483 cities, congratulations to Governor-elect Xavier Becerra,” said Cal Cities Executive Director and CEO Carolyn Coleman. “Cities are the heartbeat of California — the level of government closest to the people. They lay the foundation for strong and vibrant communities that have housing for all, safe streets, clean water, and reliable infrastructure. We look forward to working with the new administration from day one to ensure cities have a seat at the table and the tools to deliver for all Californians.”
Established in 1898, the League of California Cities is a nonprofit statewide association that advocates for cities with the state and federal governments and provides education and training services to elected and appointed city officials.
