Erickson-Hall Construction logoToday, Erickson-Hall Construction Co. broke ground on the Florida Street Discovery Center — a transformative remodel of the Banning Unified School District preschool and Transitional Kindergarten (TK) campus. This project will expand and modernize its current facilities, creating four new TK classrooms and two new preschool classrooms for students with special needs.

“The Banning Unified School District is excited to modernize the Florida Street Discovery Center facilities. The facility upgrades are vital and demonstrate our dedication to the students and families of the Banning community, providing a space that is beautiful, modern and conducive to learning,” said Terrence Davis, superintendent of Banning Unified School District. “We are thrilled to be partnering with Erickson-Hall Construction Co. on this modernization. Their experience and success in building educational spaces that enhance learning environments is unmatched. We know that they will deliver a space that can serve our students, their families and the surrounding community for many years to come.”

The new 25,000-square-foot facility will be built on the neighboring lot with the intention of connecting it to the current Florida Street Discovery Center campus through a protected walkway. This will significantly expand the capacity of the program and services for students. The project also includes updating the school kitchen, cafeteria and administrative space for faculty and staff. Construction is expected to be completed in August 2025.

“Erickson-Hall Construction Co. is honored to be working with Banning Unified School District to create an inclusive space where all students can thrive,” said Erickson-Hall President Mat Gates. “This state-of-the-art facility will ensure Florida Street Discovery Center can meet the current and long-term needs of its students, expanding the program’s capacity to serve the community.”
