At their February 18, 2025 meeting, the Brea City Council unanimously appointed Interim City Manager Kristin Griffith to the position of city manager. The city manager position was vacant due to a retirement.
Griffith brings to the position of city manager over 28 years of municipal oversight experience. City Council previously appointed her as interim city manager in December 2024. Griffith first came to Brea in 2022 as the administrative services director overseeing the Finance, Human Resources and Information Technology divisions. In July 2024, she was appointed as administrative services director/deputy city manager. On behalf of the City, Griffith currently serves as the Treasurer for both the Orange County City Managers Association and the Integrated Law and Justice Agency of Orange County.
“We are pleased to have Kristin serve as the city manager for the City of Brea,” said Mayor Blair Stewart. “My City Council colleagues and I are confident in her abilities to lead the organization into the future.”
Prior to coming to the City of Brea, Griffith was the director of financial management and strategic planning for the City of Irvine and the director of finance for the Santa Margarita Water District. For both agencies, Griffith oversaw finance, budget, treasury, purchasing, accounts payable and accounts receivable. For the City of Irvine, she also managed Human Resources, GIS, and IT, as well as the Finance Commission and Investment Advisory Committee. Griffith earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Financial Services from San Diego State University.
