The City of Vacaville is excited to announce the launch of a new mini-grant program aimed at fostering neighborhood and community improvement projects and events. This initiative encourages residents to collaborate with their neighbors to plan and execute meaningful community-building activities that enhance the quality of life in their neighborhoods.
The mini-grant program will provide funding of up to $1,000 for projects or events that promote community engagement and development. The goal is to help kickstart initiatives that can become self-sustaining, empowering residents to take an active role in shaping their community.
To qualify for the mini-grant, neighborhoods must be registered as a Vacaville Neighborhood Association. A Neighborhood Association is a collective of individuals (homeowners, renters, and representatives from local businesses, schools, faith-based organizations, and non-profits) who work together to identify issues, improve conditions, and achieve specific goals within their defined neighborhood boundaries.
“The purpose of a Neighborhood Association is to establish a vision for each neighborhood and identify its priorities,” said GeorgeAnne Meggers-Smith, Assistant City Manager. “By increasing neighborhood capacity through relationships, resources, and a shared vision, we can transform our neighborhoods into vibrant places where people feel connected.”
The application window for the mini-grant program opens March 15, 2025, and will close on April 15, 2025. We encourage all eligible Vacaville Neighborhood Associations to apply and take advantage of this opportunity to enhance their community.
