The Town of Yucca Valley is excited to announce the opening of Founders Plaza, a new public space in the heart of Old Town and a significant milestone in the Town’s ongoing revitalization efforts.

Earlier this month, Town Council members gathered for a small ribbon-cutting ceremony to mark the completion of the project. A larger community celebration will be planned for later this year, allowing residents and visitors to officially mark the plaza’s opening as a new community gathering space.

“This project is just the beginning,” said Mayor Drozd. “Founders Plaza reflects our community’s past while creating a space for connection, events and future growth in Old Town. We’re excited for residents to start using the space and looking forward to the grand opening later this year.”

Formerly referred to as the “Old Town Beautification and Sustainability Project,” the space was renamed Founders Plaza following a community-wide naming campaign. Located along Elk Trail between Twentynine Palms Highway and Yucca Trail, Founders Plaza represents the first completed phase of a broader initiative to enhance Old Town’s walkability, visual appeal, parking access and community use. While the plaza is already being enjoyed by the public, additional improvements are planned as funding becomes available.
