City Manager Janelle T. Cameron has appointed Alicia Hernandez as its next chief technology officer. Hernandez brings more than two decades of experience leading complex technology initiatives, having most recently served as enterprise systems manager for the City of Fremont. She will begin her new position on May 26.
“Alicia’s leadership, technical depth, and strong track record of delivering technology that serve departments and the community make her an outstanding addition to our executive team,” said City Manager Janelle T. Cameron. “We look forward to the vision and momentum she will bring to San Leandro.”
Throughout her career, Hernandez has been recognized for her thoughtful, data‑driven leadership style, strong partnership-building, and deep commitment to service excellence. She has led the implementation of major enterprise platforms, improved operational continuity for 24×7 services, and introduced governance and service‑management practices that have elevated customer experience and system reliability.

Hernandez holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering Technology and has completed extensive professional development in change management, IT service management, executive decision support, and system design.
She will lead the City’s technology strategy, digital modernization efforts, cybersecurity posture, and service delivery across the organization.
