The La Cañada Flintridge City Council unanimously adopted new vision, mission and core values statements this past June, establishing a clear framework to guide City services, investments and decision-making in the years ahead. The statements were shaped through the development of the City’s 2025-27 Strategic Plan, which identifies the City Council’s priorities and provides a roadmap for advancing long-term goals while preserving the qualities that make La Cañada Flintridge unique.
“These statements capture both the character of La Cañada Flintridge today and the community we are working to sustain for future generations,” said Mayor Jeanne Kim Hobson. “They provide clear direction for how the City will deliver services, manage public resources and make thoughtful decisions while preserving our small-town character and strengthening the connections that make our community special.”
The City Council’s unanimously approved 2025-27 Strategic Plan focuses on six key goals that guide City operations and decision-making:

Continue responsible fiscal management through transparent budgeting and long-term financial stability.

Deliver excellent City operations that enhance service quality, efficiency and communication.

Drive economic development and support local businesses to sustain a vibrant and resilient local economy.

Improve environmental health, parks, recreation facilities and open space to preserve and enhance La Cañada Flintridge’s natural and recreational assets.

Deliver effective public safety services that address crime, traffic and natural disaster risks by improving community readiness, safety and coordination.

Strengthen community engagement and partnerships with local institutions to foster collaboration and connection.

Mission: Our mission is to serve La Cañada Flintridge by delivering excellent municipal services, safeguarding the public and stewarding City resources and partnerships to encourage an engaged and welcoming community.
The City also adopted four core values that define how the organization will serve the community:
