Tripepi Smith logoTripepi Smith played a key role in amplifying the Blind Children’s Center (BCC) grand reopening event through targeted media outreach and content creation. The celebration, held this November, marked the unveiling of BCC’s newly renovated Los Angeles facility, a historic site designed by architect Paul R. Williams in 1938.

To ensure the event gained significant media attention, Videographer Jeremy Camp, Junior Business Analyst Olivia Rizzuto and Junior Videographer Daniel Ceruti conducted on-site interviews with key figures, including alumnus and West Covina Councilmember Ollie Cantos; Chief Executive Officer Sarah Orth; and Luis Bautista, executive director of the Los Angeles County Office of Education Head Start and Early Learning Division. The videographers also captured extensive footage of the renovated facility, showcasing its modernized features and specialized learning environments for children who are blind or visually impaired.

Using the gathered footage and interviews, Team TS crafted broadcast-ready video packages tailored for local news outlets. These pre-edited cuts enabled stations to air the story during evening news segments on the day of the reopening.

“We wanted to provide media outlets with everything they needed to share the BCC’s story effectively,” said Olivia. “The combination of heartfelt interviews and compelling visuals highlighted both the significance of the upgrades and the lasting impact the Center has on its community.”

Following the event, TS developed a written article detailing the renovations, edited high-quality photos of the event and produced a recap video. The article, along with the photos, was distributed to media outlets and later picked up by L.A. Parent.

“This event was a celebration of our history and a glimpse into the future of what is possible for children who are blind or visually impaired,” said Orth. “We are grateful for Tripepi Smith’s partnership and their help in telling our story.”

By combining thoughtful storytelling, strategic media outreach and polished content, Tripepi Smith ensured the Blind Children’s Center grand reopening received the recognition it deserved. To learn more about the celebration, visit https://www.blindchildrenscenter.org/bcc-grand-reopening/.
